Registry Levels

The "founding fathers" of this new nonprofit group are elk farmers and ranchers who have been in the industry for many, many years and believe strongly in the value of the Elk Registry. The TUEFA Elk Registry utilizes DNA testing through the UC Davis Lab in Davis, CA. TUEFA values the importance of DNA testing which gives everyone a tool for progeny tacking and genetic purity.

TUEFA offers 2 levels of elk registration. They are Silver and Gold levels of registrations. The Silver and Gold Registration Certificates will include the DNA parentage results from the UC Davis Lab. TUEFA will honor any elk registration certificate that meets TUEFA's registration criteria. TUEFA is equipped and able to assist our members with the Registry process, DNA testing and ear tag ordering. We our excited to provide our membership with online access to all membership services including the process of the Elk Registry, DNA testing & ear tag ordering.

All animals not registered can be entered into the Inventory Report. There will be a one time fee of $5 per animal. Inventory animals can be upgraded to a Silver or Gold Level of Registration with the process of DNA testing.

The registration and optional DNA profiling of elk is a critical tool in the management of elk herds, benefiting both the elk farmer or rancher and TUEFA. In all states, registration of elk is required in order to track animals movement, health, numbers and viability. Those same registrations allow the elk farmer to keep records of all animals for many purposes. Economic incomes and expenses, health records, calving and breeding capabilities, antler production and meat processing are all managed via a good set of records. Registering these same elk with TUEFA allows TUEFA the information necessary to pinpoint areas where we can be most helpful to you, the elk farmers. One of our main purposes is to assist in the marketing of elk and elk products as well as promotional information for you, our members. Registering of all elk with TUEFA allows for a data base of information regarding antler growth and measurements, artificial insemination opportunities, progeny information and the efficacy of this information. The optional

DNA profiling of these animals guarantees the bloodline and genetics are authentic for a specific animal. When purchasing semen, buying bulls or cows for breeding, or trying to incorporate a certain line of genetics into your herd, DNA profiles are necessary to ensure that the animals you are purchasing or breeding to are in fact, the bloodlines and genetics you desire. There are three levels of registration available and will fit the needs and be of benefit to those you just starting out farming elk, to the elk farmer who has been raising, breeding, improving the quality of animals for many years. You will find much more information about these levels of registration and the benefits they offer at the www.TUEFA.com

Please Note - The $300 Membership fee, for the 1st year only, can apply towards Gold & Silver Registrations and animal inventories. (First Year Only)
